Last week we were joined by Phoebe Turnbull, a first year Interior Architecture and Design student from the University of Portsmouth.
We put Phoebe to work designing two family homes on a site in North Kensington. She said of her experience:-
“I didn’t realise how much an architect needs to think about when designing a building, from the tiniest detail in their design to the largest possible construction feature… I first used the internet for some design inspiration before I sketched up some initial ideas, I then took my drawings and drew out some plans and elevations. On the second day, I started making a 3D model on Revit, I had never used Revit before but I quickly learned with help from the team. I finished this in two days and then rendered a view of my model in Photoshop… I have learned many things this week at David Miller architects, I will take away the skills I have learned in Revit and Photoshop, which I can use in the future and also in my projects at university.”
