Last week, the office went on our annual Christmas jaunt to Paris! We spent the morning in the Musée d’Orsay admiring masterpieces from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, especially the building – the former Beaux Arts railway station that was apparently down for demolition in 1970! After that, we continued the theme with lunch in La Fermette Marbeuf, in a beautiful Art Nouveau room that had been hidden during the war and was only rediscovered in 1978 when they were refurbishing the storeroom of the previously unimposing restaurant. We topped it all off with a ride on the Roue de Paris, a 60m tall, transportable Ferris wheel on the Place de la Concorde.
The charities we have chosen to support this year based on suggestions from the team are Crisis, the Fitzrovia Partnership – Children’s Ward at University College Hospital, the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund, the Children’s Sickle Cell Foundation and All Souls Clubhouse.
