Housing

You’d be forgiven for thinking that affordable housing is all about budget.

But as architects of both private residential homes and social housing, we know everybody wants the same things. Social housing just has the extra challenge of creating spacious, light, flexible environments on a very tight budget.

We don’t dumb down our approach to do this, instead we take extra care over value engineering and space planning. And our extensive knowledge of standards such as Lifetime Homes, HQIs and the London Design Guide helps us do this.

We take resident consultation seriously, as we believe collaboration really benefits the design. Our approach is one of contextual design, never one size fits all.

The results, for clients such as CityWest Homes for Westminster City Council, are safe, secure, adaptable homes that offer real world sustainability – economical to run, with simple, low-cost solutions such as natural ventilation and cooling – and no eco-bling! Most importantly they are homes that are a pleasure to live in.
