Stoke Newington – new build mixed use

Client: Renta Properties (UK) Ltd
Status: Developed to Stage D Planning

Part of a regeneration project on a brown field site, the practice is responsible for two key buildings. This proposal is for a 2500sqm, five storey building.

At podium level there is commercial office space, whilst the lower ground floor is proposed as a crèche with a secure outside play area. Twenty four two-bed homes occupy the four upper floors.

The residential component is served by three cores with two flats on each landing. L-shaped in plan, the flats interlock around the core and enjoy a dual aspect. They are designed to Lifetime Homes Standards and the building is designed to achieve Level 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes.

Projecting windows and coloured concrete balconies modulate the façade. Cladding is ceramic planks on a rain screen system and tonal colours have been used to add texture.
