Area Service Centres – office refurbishment

Two new Area Service Centres are part of a programme by CityWest Homes, Westminster City Council’s ALMO for Social Housing, to improve their service to residents. Redeveloped from existing estate offices, the challenge was to adapt existing buildings to create open and welcoming environments that are spacious, light and flexible, on a very tight budget.
Walls have been pulled down and the spaces opened up to bring in more natural light and provide a mixture of open-plan office space and private areas. We have opened up the public reception areas to make them more inviting and accessible. Improved signage and colour guide you in and the layout has been carefully considered to make it user-friendly and create a relaxed and welcoming environment. We have chosen bright and elegant materials that are also low maintenance and robust. Purple perspex panels, painted walls and tinted glass play on the CityWest Homes logo and enliven the reception area, giving a memorable, non-institutional look and feel that we hope residents will enjoy visiting.
